My Inspiration
My Other Joys
An Ongoing Chapter
Inspiration leads to inspiration in my world. Gardening gets me inspired to write. Writing gets me inspired to paint, like the above watercolor, “Joy”, I created after a writing session. Painting inspires me to decorate my home. And, while I’m decorating, I’ll get an idea for a poem or a story. And so on…
Parenting
The Greatest Art
Cozying up with my kids and reading is sacred in my home. My greatest inspirations for stories are continually born out of the time we spend together playing, laughing, and imagining. This chapter of my life brought this bookworm and film buff into the amazing world of picture books and inspired the writer in me to new ideas and connections in the kid lit world.
Teaching
Changed Forever
My years in the classroom as a Middle School English Teacher gifted me enough inspiration to last several lifetimes. A Pittsburgh native, I’ve taught in my home town, Tennessee, Iowa, and here in the greater Philadelphia area. My experiences learning to live and work in new cultures have been an excellent reminder of the challenges children face as well as the wonders they experience in every day life.
